WS 21/22: Classical Complex Systems

Aim: Introduction to stochastic processes and probabilistic theories (Markov, Bayes, Fokker-Planck, etc.) and related computer simulations (Monte Carlo (MC), Brownian Dynamics (BD), etc.) to describe classical complex systems with applications to interacting fluids, molecular reactions, and nonlinear systems.

Prerequisites : Basic knowledge in programming (C, C++, Python) as well as statistical mechanics

SS 21: Computational Physics: Materials Science

Aim: Introduction to classical molecular dynamics (MD) computer simulations of solid and liquid materials, such as metals, molecular and colloidal liquids, polymers, etc.

SS 21: Term paper: Pandemic and (Re)Active Particles: Nonequilibrium in Complex Systems

Aim: Introduction to Reaction-Diffusion equations for pandemic spreading and (re)active Brownian Particles.

WS 20/21: Theoretische Physik IV (Thermodynamik und Statistische Physik)

Ziele: Einführung in die Gundlagen der theoretischen Thermodynamik und der mikroskopischen Beschreibung von thermodynamischen Gleichgewichtszuständen (Gesamtheiten); ideale und Quantengase, Phasenübergänge

Vorkenntnisse: Theoretische Physik I-III, Analysis und Lineare Algebra
