Welcome to the Applied Theoretical Physics group at the Institute of Physics, University of Freiburg

Research in our group is devoted to the investigation of the physical properties of soft matter and functional materials, such as molecular solvents, electrolytes, biological and synthetic polymers as well as functional nanoparticles and colloids with applications in catalysis, battery research, and the design of biomimetic materials. We employ theoretical approaches from classical statistical physics combined with computer simulation techniques, such as molecular dynamics or Langevin dynamics (BD) simulations.
